The Faith of Tulips

 

arrives at the absurdly long moment that holds it breath
the second flush of grass preparing


the mower has a stubbornness for it
her flaming voice through the soft combs


how his legs have been cut off how he reaches for it
though the world looks so dead so tied up

 

 


Elizabeth Myhr publishes poetry, book reviews and critical essays.   Her work has appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, Kimera, Stringtown, The Raven Chronicles and Web Del Sol Review. She serves as poetry editor for The Raven Chronicles, managing editor for Marick Press, and a co-editor of Web Del Sol Review of Books. Currently at work on her Masters degree in Fine Arts from Seattle Pacific University, she lives in Seattle.
